Important Information for Tutors and Parents Re: Charter Schools

Through the years, we have seen many Whiz Kids graduates go on to attend charter schools for middle school and high school.  For many students, an opportunity to attend a school with a special emphasis or simply smaller class sizes is a huge help in preparing them for further school success.  We've heard from former Whiz Kids who attended charter schools that going to a school which stresses college preparation has helped them change their thinking about their own ability to further their education.  For your information, we have compiled a listing of local charter and enterprise middle schools, including dates for application and admission requirements.   Charter and Enterprise School Information 2011

Here are couple of other helpful websites with additional information about charter schools in Oklahoma:

Yes, I think it should be taguht in both elementry and secondary schools. I feel that some parents are ill equiped to teach their child about sex, and they aren't as educated as they need to be. Sex is a very complicated part of life, that children are getting themselves into a very early age these days. There were kids having sex when I was in elementary schoo, who didn't know what they were really doing, just that other people (older kids) did it. We need to teach abstinence at an early age and the consequences for having sex. However, we all know that some of the kids are going to engaged in sex at an early age, and they need to be educated on STDs and pregnancy prevention. They need to be informed of the risks and hazards involved, both physically and emotionaly. I don't think the arguement against it (contraception makes them think its okay) makes any sense at all. They are going to have sex, and they need to know that, if they do make that decision, there are safe ways to go about it.
