Three of City Care’s Whiz Kids received parts in the play, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

Oklahoma City, Okla. (November 10) – City Care’s Whiz Kids, a faith-based non-profit organization that provides one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to at-risk Oklahoma City students, will have three Whiz Kids students from Linwood Elementary to be featured in Rose State College’s production of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The production runs November 19–21 at the Performing Arts Theatre at Rose State College.The three Linwood students, Dana Garcia, Jovita Carrillo and Briana Bighorse all auditioned and received parts in the play.
The girls’ mentor and tutor at Linwood United Methodist Church, Karen Resler, helped the girls prepare for their audition. Karen has been a tutor with Whiz Kids for three years and loves reading with her kids.“They did fabulous. The girls all made the play without even having to go to callbacks. I am so proud of them. The girls have never really had an interest in plays until I started reading them at our tutoring sessions.” stated Karen Resler, Whiz Kids tutor from Linwood United Methodist Church.
Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be performed November 19–20, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 21 at 2 p.m. at Rose State College Performing Arts Center.
